JOPLIN, Mo. - The eighth ranked Pittsburg State University women's basketball team claimed a 68-52 road win over MIAA foe Missouri Southern State University on Saturday (Jan. 25) at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Pittsburg State (17-2, 9-0 MIAA) utilized a key 16-3 run to end the third quarter in the win with
Hannah Nilges leading the way during the surge with eight of her 11 points in the game.
Karenna Gerber led the team with 17 points and 11 rebounds for her fifth consecutive double-double performance.
Sydney Holmes and
Macie Mays finished with 10 points each to round out the leading scorers.
Harper Schreiner finished with a game-high 10 assist along with nine points scored.
Missouri Southern (13-8, 5-4 MIAA) was led by Ryan Franklin with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Up next for the Gorillas is a road weekend against Northeastern State (Jan. 30) and Arkansas - Fort Smith (Feb. 1).
