MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. - The Pittsburg State University men's golf team completed the first day of the MSSU Invite with a rare albatross achieved by sophomore
Tyler Hardtarfer at Shangri-La GC on Monday (Oct. 20).
Hardtarfer accomplished the rare albatross/double eagle on hole four, a 502-yard par five in the first round of action. Through 36-holes, Hardtarfer is the individual leader for the Gorillas at -1, tied for third out of the 100 competitors.
Mason White (+10, T-43rd),
David Hobart (+11, T-47th) and
Cooper Forth (+15, T-73rd) round out the top-four individuals for Pittsburg State. As a team the Gorillas at +36 are tied for 10th, while being one of four teams to complete the second round of action before darkness settled in.
Baylor Bostick from Central Oklahoma is the individual leader at -4 as the Bronchos are atop the team standings at -5 with five individuals in Top-20.
Tomorrow, teams and individuals will complete the remainder of the second round if they were not able to do so today and then after a short break finish the tournament with a third round of 18-holes.
