LILBURN, Ga. - The Pittsburg State University women's basketball team will begin the 2025-26 season ranked 7th in the WBCA Division II Top 25 poll released Tuesday (Oct. 29).
The Gorillas were picked to repeat as MIAA regular season champions in the MIAA Media Poll after a 33-4 overall record, 18-1 MIAAÂ last season.

Amanda Davied returns two starters and five letterwinners for the 2024-25 squad, headlined by senior guard
Harper Schreiner and junior guard/forward
Macie Mays. Schrainer is a three-time All-MIAA performer for the Gorillas and for her career has amassed 816 points (8.2), 581 rebounds (5.8) and 428 assists (4.3) in 100 career games. Mays was named a third-team All-MIAA performer last season after averaging 13.7 points and 3.8 rebounds a game.
Davied for her career as the head coach at Pitt State is 148-62 while leading her alma mater.
Pitt State will open the 2025-26 season by competing in the MIAA/NSIC Conference Challenge Nov. 14-15 at Kearney, Neb. The Gorillas will battle Northern State and Minnesota Crookston in the two-day classic format tournament.
