LILBURN, Ga. – The Pittsburg State University women's basketball team collected another milestone in it's historic 2024-25 season, being ranked second in the WBCA/NCAA Division II Postseason Top-25 Poll.

In Pitt State history this is the best season ending ranking by the WBCA, beating out the No. 6 ranking the 2011-12 and 2015-16 teams achieved. This marks the third time in program history to be ranked second in the nation with the previous times being on Jan. 2, 1994 and Jan. 13, 2015. Also marks the completion of the third full season to be ranked in the WBCA Top-25 Poll, joining the 2014-15 and 2016-17 campaigns.

This season the Gorillas advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four for the first time in program history, losing to eventual national champions Grand Valley State. Pittsburg State enjoyed a trophy laden campaign with the MIAA Regular Season and Postseason Tournament crowns joined by the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament title.

As a team Pitt State set school records for most games played (37), wins (33), home wins (15), highest overall winning percentage (.892), highest conference winning percentage (.947), fewest losses (4), fewest losses in conference play (1), most points scored (2,954), rebounds collected (1,510) and assists provided (601) in a season.
