PITTSBURG — The Pittsburg State University men's cross country team is ready to compete at the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships at Kenosha, Wis., Saturday (Nov. 22).
The men's 10-kilometer race will start at 11:15 a.m. (CST) with the women's six-kilometer race to precede it at 10 a.m. at Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course. The NCAA will offer a Live Web Stream as well as Live Results of the meets.
The Pitt State men earned an at-large berth into the national field following the Gorillas fourth place finish at the NCAA Division II Central Regional at Joplin, Mo., on Nov. 8.
Pitt State is making the program's 10th appearance at the NCAA Division II National Championships, including the school's fifth straight berth. The Gorillas posted their highest NCAA national finish a year ago by finishing in seventh place overall.
Pitt State enters the national championships ranked No. 19 in the most recent USTFCCCA/NCAA Division II Top 25 poll. The Gorillas finished as the runner-up at the 2025 MIAA Championships earlier this fall.
Pitt State will be led by a quartet of NCAA Division II All-Central Region runners: redshirt juniors
Nathan Hinrichs,
Dylan Sprecker and
Tyler Atkins and redshirt senior
Travis Sickles. Hinrichs (New Bloomfield, Mo.) placed fourth overall at the 2025 Central Regional, while Sprecker (Gypsum, Kan.) and Sickles (Cassville, Mo.) finished sixth and 12
th, respectively. Atkins (Fort Riley, Kan.) placed 23
rd at the Central Regional.
