ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Pittsburg State University women's volleyball team completed its season with a loss in the MIAA Tournament semifinals on Friday (Nov. 21) at the Civic Arena against the No. 7 Washburn Ichabods.
For the Ichabods (26-3) they claimed the match with set scores of 25-19, 22-25, 25-22, 25-20. Pittsburg State (14-15) as a team collected 16 blocks and 42 kills.
Don'Yah Cosie led the team with 13.0 points from 10 total blocks and seven kills for her second consecutive match with 10 or more total blocks recorded.Â
Vix Vilott finished with a team-high 10 kills to go with 14 digs for a double-double performance.
Anna Dean and
Maddi LaPointe each finished with 11.5 points.
Jesa Wallace (17) and
Abby Carr (16) split the setting duties while
Josie McCroskey claimed a team-high 24 digs.
Washburn was led by Keilah Rivers with 13 kills, followed by Bella Limback with 12 and the duo of Brynne Topolski and Natalie Hedlund both finishing with 10 kills. Corinna McMullen (25) and Sydney Conner (23) split the setting duties for the Ichabods and Taylor Rottinghaus claimed a match-high 25 digs. With the win over Pittsburg State the Ichabods advance to the MIAA Tournament championship match against the winner of Nebraska - Kearney and Central Oklahoma on Saturday.
