KANSAS CITY, Mo. — For the third time in four weeks, Pittsburg State University junior placekicker
Austin Schmitt has been selected the MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week.
Schmitt booted three field goals and scored 12 points in No. 9 Pitt State's 30-10 win over Missouri Southern last Saturday (Nov. 1) at Carnie Smith Stadium. The Grain Valley, Mo., native converted kicks of 34, 26 and 30 yards in the game. He also made all three of his PAT attempts.
Schmitt, who also earned MIAA Special Teams Player of the Week honors against Washburn on Oct. 11 and Missouri Western on Oct. 25, has made an NCAA Division II leading 15 field goals this season.
