EDMOND, Okla. — Tanner Leslie and Brady Pacha limited the East Central University offense and newcomer Dagen Brewer homered and drove in five runs to lead the Pittsburg State University baseball team to an 8-2 win Saturday (Feb. 1).
 
The Gorillas scored a run in the top of the first and added a pair of runs in both the third and fourth frames and three runs in the sixth to take control in the game and improve to 2-0 on the young season.
 
Leslie scattered four hits in 4.0 innings of work. He issued one walk and registered four strikeouts. Brady Pacha (1-0) followed with 4.0 innings of two-hit relief work. He allowed one walk and posted six strikeouts. Both pitchers allowed one run in the contest. Ryan Leiker got the final three outs for the Gorillas.
 
Brewer went 3-for-5 at the plate with a pair of run-scoring singles and a three-run home run in the top of the sixth. Josh Holmes, in his season debut, swatted a pair of solo homers in the third and fourth frames. Rickey Sanchez also knocked in a run with his RBI hit scoring Alex Rodgers in the top of the first inning. Rodgers scored three times in the contest.
 
Pitt State will close out its weekend series of games in the Edmond First Pitch Classic with a 9:30 a.m. (CST) game Sunday against Metro State Denver.
