Kolby Dougan took a no-hitter into the fifth inning and the Gorillas offense generated 11 runs in an 11-2 victory over Metropolitan State University Denver Sunday (Feb. 2).
The Gorillas completed a 3-0 weekend at the Edmond First Pitch Classic hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma.
In his Pitt State debut, Dougan fanned 12 batters in 5.0 innings of work. He retired 14 of the first 16 batters he faced. He worked around a leadoff walk in the first inning and a leadoff hit batter in the second frame.

Kadyn Williams paced the Gorillas eight-hit attack by going 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run and five RBI.
Josh Holmes also doubled and knocked in a pair of runs.

Pitt State posted an 8-3 record last fall, qualifying for the NCAA Division II national playoffs for a third consecutive season.
Relievers

Cadyn Castellanos and
Boston Dowd combined to limit the Roadrunners to one run on four hits over the final 4.0 innings of work. The relievers combined to register six strikeouts, with Castellanos striking out the side in the seventh after MSU opened the frame with a hit and a walk.
