Dougan's Dominance Leads to Repeat MIAA Pitcher of the Week Selection

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Pittsburg State University graduate righthander Kolby Dougan continued his dominance on the mound Saturday (Feb. 8) and earned a repeat selection at MIAA Pitcher of the Week for his efforts.

Dougan fired a complete-game one-hitter and tied a school record with 16 strikeouts to help lead the Gorillas to a 12-0 victory over Truman at Al Ortolani Field. The Topeka native came one strike away from a no-hitter before the Bulldogs' Dakota Joggerst broke up the no-hit bid.

Dougan bounced back to record his 16th and final strikeout three pitches later to end the game. He allowed just one walk and posted a .045 batting average to 22 batters faced in the game.

Dougan, the reigning MIAA Pitcher of the Week, is 2-0 on the season with a 0.75 ERA, three hits allowed, three walks and 28 strikeouts in 12.0 innings pitched.
