HAYS, Kan. --
Jordan Frison scored a game-high 30 points but the Pittsburg State University men's basketball team couldn't hold off Fort Hays State University down the stretch in a 62-58 road loss Saturday (Feb. 22) at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
The Tigers (18-8, 11-6 MIAA) snapped the Gorillas (16-10, 12-5 MIAA) six-game winning streak the four-point win. Pitt State still remains alone in second place in the MIAA standings with two games remaining in the regular season. FHSU is tied for third place in the conference standings (with Rogers State) a game behind the Gorillas.
Frison made 12 of 21 shots from the floor in the contest to pace all scorers with 30 points. It marked his fourth 30-point outburst in the Gorillas' last nine games.
Evan Jackson added 14 points and six rebounds for Pitt State.
The Tigers got 18 points from Kaleb Hammeke and 10 apiece from Shaun Riley and Eli Lawson.
