TOPEKA, Kan. - The Pittsburg State Univeristy softball team recorded a 6-2 win over Concordia - St. Paul to conclude the Washburn Invitational on Monday (Feb. 24) at Gahnstrom Field.
Pittsburg State (9-3) got five strikeouts in six innings from
Ava Laurent (5-2),
Chelsea Beville threw a shutout seventh in the circle.
Courtney Storey led the team with two runs driven in,
Kendall Forbes and
Heather Arnett scored twice with the pair each stealing a base as well.
CSP (1-6) scored their lone runs of the game in the second inning but left five runners on base in the loss.
Up next for the Gorillas will be the Top Gun Invite in Shawnee, Kan., at the Mid American Sports Complex beginning on Friday (Feb. 28).
