PITTSBURG - The Pittsburg State University softball team completed the MIAA/NSIC Conference Challenge with a doubleheader sweep over Concordia - St. Paul on Sunday (Mar. 16) at the Pittsburg State Softball Field.
Game one a 9-3 final score, was highlighted by a pair of home runs by
Kadyn Trochim. Trochim for the season now has nine home runs to rank second in the MIAA and her .785 slugging percentage ranks sixth among conference ranks.
Ava Laurent picked up her ninth win of the season with six innings of work, striking out five.Â
Game two was a 9-1 run-rule victory in five innings,
Aydenne Brown picked up her ninth win of the season with seven strikeouts in a complete game effort.
Lexi Davis and
Alleyna Rushing led the team with two RBI each, Rushing finished with the team-high three hits and two stolen bases.
Up next for the Gorillas will be the Drury Panthers in a midweek twinbill on the road, first pitch from Thompson Field at Meador Park is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (CDT) on Wednesday (Mar. 19).
