SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Pittsburg State University softball team began a busy week on the road against the Drury University Panthers, losing both games of a doubleheader at Thompson Field on Wednesday (Mar. 19).
In game one the Gorillas (21-9) and Panthers (13-13) went into extra innings with the hosts hitting a walk off single in the eighth.
Alleyna Rushing and
Amaya Snyder each collected a two RBI hit in the fourth inning to give Pittsburg State a 4-2 lead before Drury responded with two runs in the bottom half to finalize scoring before extra innings were required.Â

Heather Arnett single up the middle to score
Trista Peterson from third. Drury responded with six runs in the bottom of the second and added in three more in the sixth to activate a run rule decision.
The Gorillas will be back in action on Saturday (Mar. 22) against Washburn at the Pittsburg State Softball Field to resume conference action.
