PITTSBURG — Four members of the Pittsburg State University women's basketball team - seniors
Karenna Gerber,
Sydney Holmes and
Grace Pyle along with junior
Harper Schreiner have been named to the 2024-25 NCAA Division II Academic All-District Women's Basketball Team as selected by the College Sports Communicators.
The quartet now advances to the national ballot from which the 2024-25 NCAA Division II Academic All-America Team will be selected in April.
Gerber is averaging a team-leading 17.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game, earning All-Region and All-MIAA honors this season. The Halstead, Kan., native is shooting .601 from the field to rank fourth in all of Division II. She holds a 3.84 grade-point-average as an elementary education major.
Holmes contributes 6.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists a game, shooting .738 from free throws. The Maize, Kan., native was named the MIAA "A Game" Scholar-Athlete of 2025 Women's Basketball Championship after posting a perfect 4.00 grade-point-average as a plastics engineering technology major.
Pyle is averaging 16.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists a game on her way to earned All-American honors to go with being an All-Region and All-MIAA performer. The McPherson, Kan., native ranks third in Division II for made three-pointers with 90 and is eighth in assist-turnover ratio (2.44). Pyle is a 3.54 grade-point-average as a nursing major.
Schreiner is posting 6.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.4 steals a game, shooting .400 from behind the arc. The Eudora, Kan., native was an All-MIAA performer, and ranks second in Division II for assist-turnover ratio at 3.04. Schreiner holds a 4.00 grade-point average as a nursing major.
