TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - The Pittsburg State University softball team split its weekend opening doubleheader against Northeastern State on Friday (Apr. 11) at RiverHawks Park.
Northeastern State (15-29, 8-14 MIAA) claimed game one 5-4 with a two-out walk off infield single. In the finale, Pittsburg State (31-11, 13-3 MIAA) scored three runs with two outs in the seventh inning for the comeback victory.
Ava Laurent pitched the first game and struck out eight RiverHawks in six inning for a no decision,
Aydenne Brown picked up her 14th win of the season with a complete game five strikeout performance.
Up next for the Gorillas will be a doubleheader against Central Missouri beginning at 2:00 p.m. (CDT) on Saturday (Apr. 12) from the South Recreational Complex.
