GREENWOOD, Ind. - Three Pittsburg State University softball student-athletes were named as College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District recipients.
Junior
Heather Arnett, sophomore
Ava Laurent and senior
Courtney Storey were named All-District and will advance onto the 2025 CSC Academic All-American® ballot.
Arnett an elementary education major finished the season as the Division II statistical champion for batting average at .495. Among Division II ranks this season her 95 hits were fourth best, 1.17 runs per game ranked seventh, 63 runs scored were ninth, 40 stolen bases ranked 13th, 0.74 stolen bases per game were 21st and .519 on base percentage ranked 27th. A first-team All-American by the D2CCA and a second-team selection by the NFCA this season at shortstop, Arnett was an Academic All-American® last season.
Laurent an exercise science major, this season finished with a 16-8 record in the circle from 29 appearances, 27 starts. In 148.1 innings of work she struck out 164 batters and limiting opponents to a .206 average on her way to second-team All-MIAAÂ honors this season after being the MIAA Freshman of the Year and a first-team All-MIAA performer last season.
Storey a marketing major finished the season hitting .390 with 64 hits, 55 runs batted in, 30 runs scored, 15 doubles and 11 stolen bases. Tied for the Division II lead in sacrifice flies (8), she is also 26th in runs batted in per game (1.06) and 38th in runs batted in. A first-team All-MIAA outfielder this season and a second-team All-Region by the D2CCA, Storey repeats as an Academic All-District honoree.
