CLAREMORE, Okla. - The Pittsburg State University women's basketball team picked up a 68-57 road win over the Rogers State University Hillcats on Wednesday (Jan. 14) at the Claremore Expo Center.
For the Gorillas (13-3, 6-1 MIAA)
Ja'Miya Brown finished with a game-high 18 points as the duo of
Kaycee McCumber and
Harper Schreiner collected double-doubles. McCumber finished with a season-high 17 points to go with a game-high 15 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Schreiner collected the 12th double-double of her career and the fourth of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Clara Swearingen rounded out the Gorillas to score in double figures with 10 points.
Rogers State (6-10, 3-4 MIAA) was led by Samantha Shanks with 16 points and 12 rebounds, Ataya Casaus (12), Ella Hafer (12) and Kate Melton (10) rounded out the other members of the team to finish in double digits for points.
Pittsburg State will now be idle until Saturday (Jan. 17), when they will battle the University of Central Oklahoma Bronchos in Edmond, Okla., tip off from the Hamilton Field House is set for 3:30 p.m. (CST).
