O'Hara, Stanchfield Garner Academic All-America Honors

AUSTIN, Texas — Two members of the Pittsburg State University football team — redshirt senior long snapper Austin O'Hara and redshirt senior offensive lineman Carter Stanchfield — have been named to the 2025 NCAA Division II Academic All-America® Football Team as selected by the College Sports Communicators.

O'Hara has handled the long snapping duties for the Gorillas each of the past two seasons. The St. Paul, Kan. native has a 3.97 GPA as a psychology major Stanchfield anchored a Pitt State offensive line that helped the Gorillas average 29.2 points and 394.6 yards of total offense per game. Stanchfield earned first-team All-MIAA honors and also garnered honorable mention All-America accolades this fall. The Paola, Kan. native has a 4.00 GPA pursuing a master's of business administration (MBA) degree.

O'Hara and Stanchfield become the 30th and 31st Pitt State football players to earn Academic All-America® honors. Those Gorillas have combined to receive Academic All-America accolades on 47 occasions with 13 players receiving honors multiple times.

Ten MIAA student-athletes earned 2025 NCAA Division II Academic All-America® honors. Minnesota State-Moorhead senior quarterback Jack Strand was named the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year.
