PITTSBURG -- Pittsburg State University senior infielder
Dagen Brewer has been selected as an NCAA Division II Preseason All-Central Region pick by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) today (Jan. 27). Brewer was tabbed as the All-Central Region designated hitter by the baseball writers.
Brewer hit .380 with 54 runs scored, 19 doubles, 24 home runs and 78 RBI as a junior in 2025. The Topeka native led the MIAA in home runs, RBI and slugging percentage (.866), earning first-team All-MIAA honors. Brewer set Pitt State records for single season home runs and single game RBI over the course of the season.
Brewer also garnered Division II Preseason All-America recognition from D2 Baseball Monday (Jan. 26). He earned second-team All-America honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) following the 2025 season.
Additionally, Pitt State was picked No. 3 in the NCBWA Preseason Central Region Top 10 Poll. Central Missouri was voted the unanimous preseason No. 1 team in the region with 10 first place votes and 100 points. Minnesota State edged Pitt State by a points, 78 to 77, for No. 2 in the poll. Arkansas Tech and Augustana (S.D.) rounded out the top five squads in the preseason poll.
