PITTSBURG — Pittsburg State University head baseball coach Brock Buckingham has added 30 newcomers to the Gorillas roster for the 2026 season.

Buckingham became just the sixth head coach in the 46-year history of the program on May 27. He replaced Bob Fornelli, who retired from his position following the end of the Gorillas record breaking 2025 season that culminated with a 42-12 record and a trip to the NCAA Division II Super Regionals.

Buckingham's initial recruiting class includes nine seniors, 16 juniors and five freshmen. The group also features 17 position players and 13 pitchers.
 
"We are really excited about this class! Losing 26 seniors from last year's club, we needed to hit the transfer portal and junior colleges hard," Buckingham said. "Kody Sindelar and Austin Bonnell did an outstanding job in recruiting, and we filled the spots that we needed to. We are looking forward to team practice that starts September 2nd."
