EDMOND, Okla. - Freshman
Elise Eckert finished the Grace Shine Invite tied for fifth among 119 individuals at the Golf Club of Edmond Tuesday (Oct. 6), as a team Pittsburg State finished in ninth.
For the tournament, PSU finished at +40 (+20/+20) with two members of the team finishing in the top 25.
Eckert (+1) collected four birdies today for six over 36-holes. This is the first top five finish for Eckert in her collegiate career and the lowest two-round tournament score (+1, 143) in program history.
Abby Ervin recorded her best finish (T-24th) and tournament score (+7, 149) as a Gorilla,
Kylee Hopper in her season debut finished T-56th at +14,
Kymbree Larance finished T-75th at +19 and
Charlotte Kerbs rounded out the team T-93rd at +24.
Southeastern Oklahoma State University claimed the team title (+14, +13/+1) after being tied with Henderson State University, claiming the win by virtue of a playoff. Emma Thompson from SEOSU claimed the individual win at -4 (E/-4).
Up next for Pittsburg State will be the Region Preview hosted by the University of Nebraska - Kearney in Kearney, Neb., at the Meadowlark Golf Course (Oct. 12-13).
