Box Score FORT SMITH, Ark. – The Pittsburg State University baseball team rolled to a 30-3 victory over the University of Arkansas Fort Smith Saturday (Feb. 28).
The win helped the Gorillas, ranked No. 2 by the baseball writers (NCBWA) and No. 7 by the coaches (ABCA), improve to 16-0 on the season (6-0 MIAA). Pitt State is off to its best start to a season in program history and the Gorillas continue to extend their school record winning streak as well.
Isaac Webb homered and drove in five runs in the contest, while
Landin Midgett collected three hits with a home run and four RBI.
Dagen Brewer extended his MIAA record consecutive games hitting streak to 36 games with a 3-for-3 day at the plate. Brewer homered, scored four runs and drove in three more runs.
Zach Voss improved to 5-0 on the season. He limited the Lions (1-13, 0-5 MIAA) to two hits through 4.0 innings pitched.

The Gorillas will seek to sweep the three-game MIAA series when the two squads meet at 1 p.m. (CST) Sunday at Crowder Field.
