PITTSBURG -- The Pittsburg State University baseball team overcame an early 4-0 deficit and rolled to a 21-4 victory over Newman University Wednesday (Mar. 11) at Al Ortolani Field.
The Gorillas, who climbed to the No. 1 ranking in the NCBWA NCAA Division II Top 25 poll earlier Wednesday, improved to 20-1 on the season and 9-01 in MIAA play. The Jets, who drove to Pittsburg Wednesday after overnight rain showers prevented Newman from hosting in Wichita today, slipped to 4-17 (2-9 MIAA).
Jadyn McNealy paced Pitt State's 16-hit offensive attack with a 3-for-5 day at the plate. He scored twice, drove in three runs and swiped three bases.

Cole Carter and Kam Coester joined McNealy with three-RBI days.
Cross Dowd (1-0), the second of seven Pitt State pitchers to see action in the game, earned his first win of the season. Dowd tossed 2.0 no-hit innings.
The Gorillas will open a three-game MIAA series against No. 7/6 University of Central Missouri starting Friday (Mar. 13) at 3 p.m. (CDT).
