PITTSBURG -- The Pittsburg State University baseball team opened its three-game MIAA series against the University of Central Oklahoma with a 12-8 victory Friday (Mar. 20) at Al Ortolani Field.
The Gorillas (24-2, 13-2 MIAA) got nine hits and seven RBI from the top of their lineup. Leadoff man Jadyn McNeeley collected three hits, scored twice and made three stolen bases.
Eric Bacon went 4-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and three RBI, while
Dagen Brewer belted a pair of solo home runs, hisTh 10th and 11th of the season.
Preston Giltner (4-1) limited the Bronchos (12-13, 3-8 MIAA) to three runs on six hits through 5.0 innings of work.
Bradyn McClure registered his fourth save of the season by tossing the final four innings.
The Gorillas and the Bronchos will continue the series with a 2 p.m. (CDT) game Saturday.
