INDIANAPOLIS – The Pittsburg State University men's golf team is ranked fifth in the most recent NCAA Division II Central Regional Rankings released Friday (Mar. 27).

The Gorillas are one of six MIAA men's golf teams appearing in the regional rankings. Central Oklahoma (1), Central Missouri (2) and Washburn (4) are ranked ahead of Pitt State, while Arkansas Fort Smith (7) and Northeastern State (11) are included beneath the Gorillas.

Pitt State is coming off a six-place team finish at the Arkansas Collegiate March 23-24 at El Dorado, Ark.

The Mules are one of six MIAA men's golf teams appearing in the latest rankings. Central Oklahoma, Washburn, Pittsburg State, Arkansas-Fort Smith, and Northeastern State are also ranked.

Following the MIAA Championship, the top 10 teams in the final Midwest and Central Regional Rankings, and eight individuals from each region on teams that did not qualify, will advance to the 2026 NCAA-II Midwest/Central Regional, May 7-9, at Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich.

The teams that finish in the top four of the Midwest/Central Regional, and the two top individuals on teams that don't advance, will qualify for the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship, which is slated for May 18-22 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.

Pitt State will return to action March 30-31 by hosting the Tommy Riggs Collegiate Invitational at Crestwood Country Club.
