BOLIVAR, Mo. - The Pittsburg State University baseball team picked up a seven inning run rule victory over Southwest Baptist, 15-3 on Tuesday (Apr. 14) at Dodson Field.
As a team, Pittsburg State (32-8) collected 13 hits and nine walks for 15 runs as five Gorillas collected a home run.Â
Isaac Webb led the game with four runs driven in, with a home run and triple accounting for his hits in the game.
Cooper Wesslund went 3-of-4 to lead the team for hits, being one of four Gorillas to accumulate multiple hits. Joining Webb with multiple RBI in the game were
Eric Bacon,
Landin Midgett,
Seth Dandridge and
Landon Bruce.
On the mound,
Cross Dowd picked up his second win of the season with a shutout relief appearance in the third inning,
Jackson Murry got the start and pitched 2.0 scoreless innings.
Ethan Froud,
Ryker Curry,
Porter Starnes and
Brady Stuewe were effective in relief as well.
Up next will be the Missouri S&T Miners on Wednesday (Apr. 15) at the Ballpark at S&T. The Miners this season are 25-10 and receiving votes in the latest ABCA Poll.
