KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Pittsburg State University senior thrower Jack Haukap garnered MIAA Field Athlete of the Week honors today (Apr. 14).

Haukap (Garden Plain, Kan.) also was selected as the NCAA Division II National Athlete of the Week Monday by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for his record-breaking performance at the UCM Kip & Kirk Mule Relays last week. Haukap recorded a winning mark of 230 feet, 6 inches in the meet - the No. 9 mark in D2 history and the furthest mark since 2022. His mark, the Pitt State and MIAA record setter, sits in the top-10 for collegians this season.
