LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Three members of the Pittsburg State University softball team were announced as All-Region honorees by the Division II National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Friday (May 15).
Lexi Davis (C) and
Kadyn Trochim (3B) were named to the first-team while
Heather Arnett (SS) was a second-team selection.
Davis set a Pittsburg State record for season RBI with 76 so far, the Harrisburg, Ark., native is leading the team with 13 home runs while batting .399 heading into the second day of the Division II National Tournament. A first-team All-MIAA performer this season, Davis has recorded 65 hits, scored 49 runs, been walked 31 times and hit 17 doubles.
Trochim this season is hitting .451 with 74 hits, 74 RBI, 46 runs scored, 37 walks drawn, 18 doubles and seven home runs. The Waco, Texas native was a first-team All-MIAA selection this season and garnered All-Region honors for the first time as a Gorilla.
Arnett, is leading Division II with a .539 average, 110 hits and 79 runs scored so far this season. The Pittsburg, Kan., native has also stolen 38 bases, hit 15 doubles and seven triples while driving in 39 runs. The current career leader in MIAA history for hits, runs scored and stolen bases while ranking in the top 15 in Division II history in each category.
