Arnett Makes Professional Debut With Florida Vibe

KANSAS CITY, Kan - Heather Arnett made history once again, this time becoming the first softball student-athlete in Pittsburg State University history to turn professional.

The Pittsburg, Kan., native on Wednesday (June 17) was called up by the Professional Softball League (PSL) Florida Vibe and appeared in the game against the Kansas City Diamonds at Legends Field.

Arnett pinch ran in the first and sixth innings to become the first former Division II player to play in league history. Before being called up, Arnett was one of 14 playing for the league's Development Team in Kansas City and was eligible to be called up by any of the PSL teams at any time. The PSL currently consists of: Florida Vibe, Atlanta Smoke, Kansas City Diamonds, Florida Breeze, NY Rise and Chattanooga Chili.

A six-time All-American and three-time Academic All-American®, Arnett finished her career with the longest hitting streak in NCAA history (48, May 8, 2025 - April 24, 2026), while being tied for fourth in career hits (374), seventh in career runs scored (254) and tied for 15th for career stolen bases (155) in Division II history. Among Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) history, Arnett holds conference records for the longest hitting streak, career hits, career batting average (.467), career stolen bases, runs scored in a season (81, 2026) and hits in a season (114, 2026), while being the only player in league history to have an 80-run scored or 100-hit season. Holds seven Pittsburg State career records, four season records and is either first or tied for the single-game record for stolen bases, hits and runs scored.
