Arnett Tabbed Academic All-American

AUSTIN, Texas - Pittsburg State University senior shortstop Heather Arnett on Tuesday (June 16) was announced as a first-team Academic All-American® by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).

A Pittsburg, Kan., native at the conclusion of the 2025-26 school year, Arnett had a 3.74 cumulative GPA as a general studies major. A three-time Academic All-American®  in her career, being named first-team in 2024 as an outfielder and third-team in 2025 as an infielder. Arnett is the only softball student-athlete to be a three-time Academic All-American® and one of 13 student-athletes overall in school history to be bestowed the honor at least three times.

Arnett ended her historic collegiate career with a final campaign for the ages with a .525 batting average, 114 hits, 81 runs scored, 38 stolen bases, 39 RBI, 15 doubles and seven triples. Finished the 2026 season as the Division II statistical champion for hits, batting average and runs scored per game (1.42) while being second for runs scored. In Division II history, she ranks third for season hits, tied for fourth in career hits (374), seventh in career runs scored (254), tied for sixth in season runs scored and tied for 15th for career stolen bases (155).
