Biography


General: Sixth-year player… a hard-working linebacker who has battled through injuries to be a key contributor on defense and special teams for the Gorillas… looking for a break-out senior campaign this fall.

In 2014: Appeared in 10 games in a reserve role… made six tackles (two solo).

In 2013: Appeared in all 12 games in a reserve role… recorded 16 tackles (five solo) with 1.5 tackles-for-loss on the year.

In 2012: Suffered a season-ending injury in the second week of the season.

In 2011: Saw action in all 14 games in a reserve role… made 16 tackles (six solo) as well as one interception and one fumble recovery on the season.

In 2010: Redshirt season.

In High School: An All-Conference selection as a senior at Raytown South High School in 2009… recorded 95 tackles with 5.0 QB sacks, three PBUs, two INTs, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries… helped the Cardinals to a 12-2 record and a state runner-up finish in 2008.

Personal: Born October 29, 1991… son of Christopher Smith (deceased) and Erike Brantley… a  member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll… has a 3.08 GPA as a management major.
