Second-year player… a talented righthanded pitcher who will look to compete for a spot in the Gorillas starting rotation… In 2017: made 16 appearances with 14 starts... posted a 4-6 record with a 5.35 ERA... registered a team-high 81 strikeouts in 72.1 innings of work... earned All-MIAA Honorable Mention... transferred to Pitt State from Texas A&M University… At TAMU: Made one relief appearance for the Aggies as a sophomore in 2015… In Junior College: Compiled a 7-0 record as a redshirt freshman at Crowder College in 2014... started 11 games, registering a 2.59 ERA and 76 strikeouts in 62.7 innings... averaged 10.9 strikeouts per nine innings to help the Roughriders to a NJCAA Region 16 title.… In High School:  A two-time All-District performer at Concordia Lutheran High School… earned All-District 4-4A honors at shortstop as a junior and as a pitcher as a senior… Personal:  Born September 8, 1993… son of Scott Whiting and Joy Rayburn … a communication major.
