Fourth-year player… a talented catcher who figures to play a key role for the Gorillas again this spring… In 2017: Started 14 of 26 games played... batted .222 with two doubles, and four RBI...  In 2016: Started 32 of 37 games played… batted .248 with six doubles, three home runs and 20 RBI… enjoyed nine multi-hit games… In 2015: Started 44 games… batted .236 with 22 runs scored, six doubles, five home runs and 27 RBI… hit safely in 25 of 44 games, including five multi-hit games… In High School: A Missouri Class 5A All-State selection as a senior at Rockhurst High School… batted .364 with eight doubles, five HRs and 30 RBI for the Hawklets… Personal: Born July 29, 1995… son of Mike and Jackie Mercer… a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll… earned a 3.71 GPA as a nursing major.
