Pittsburg State Gorillas

General: Fifth-year player… one of the elite quarterbacks in NCAA Division II… a two-time All-MIAA performer who has fashioned a 23-3 (.885) career record as Pitt State's starting quarterback… expected to contend for All-MIAA honors and beyond again this fall… a two-year PSU team captain (2023-24)… has completed 464 of 735 career passes (.631) for 6,163 yards and 56 touchdowns… already ranks No. 2 in PSU history for career passing yards and No. 3 for career touchdown passes.

In 2023: Started all 12 games played… completed 216 of 310 passes (.697) for 2,589 yards and 20 touchdowns with seven interceptions… rushed for 79 net yards (on 64 carries) and two touchdowns on the season… averaged 215.8 passing yards per game and 222.3 yards of total offense per game… ranked second in the MIAA and third in NCAA Division II in completion percentage (.697)… also ranked third in the MIAA and 18th nationally in passing efficiency (156.6 rating)… garnered second-team All-MIAA honors… completed 20 of 30 passes for 286 yards and three TDs vs. UCM (Sept. 16)… also enjoyed three TD passing performances vs. MWSU (Nov. 4) and vs. UIndy (Nov. 18)

In 2022: Started all 13 games… completed 206 of 363 passes (.568) for 2,975 yards and 29 touchdowns with nine interceptions… rushed for 91 net yards (on 73 carries) and one touchdown on the season… averaged 228.9 passing yards per game and 235.9 yards of total offense per game… ranked second in the MIAA and 10th in NCAA Division II in passing TDs (29)… also second in the MIAA and 14th nationally in both passing yards (2975) and passing yards per completion (14.4 ypc)… ranked second in the MIAA and 20th in D2 in points responsible for (180)… garnered third-team All-MIAA honors… named the MIAA Player of the Week on Sept. 12 after passing for 301 yards and four touchdowns vs. UNK (Sept. 8)… his 2,975 passing yards and his 29 touchdown passes both ranked as the third highest single season totals in school history.

In 2021: Saw action in five games, including his first career start in the regular season finale vs. FHSU (Nov. 13)… completed 42 of 62 passes (.677) on the season for 599 yards and seven touchdowns and two interceptions… completed 20 of 31 passes for 294 yards and three TDs while leading the Gorillas to a 34-24 road win against the Tigers to end the season.

In 2020: Saw action in one game is a reserve role during the Covid-19 shortened season… completed three of seven passes (.429) for 50 yards.

In High School: Selected the Northeast Florida Quarterback of the Year as a senior at Bartram Trail High School in 2019… passed for 2,390 yards and 23 touchdowns while helping the Bears to an 11-1 record his senior season… also an honorable mention All First Coast Team selection as a junior in 2018.

Personal: Born December 20, 2001… son of Chad Dodson Sr. and Andrea Webb… a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, an MIAA Scholar Athlete and a 2023 CSC Academic All-District selection… graduated from PSU in December 2023 with a 3.95 GPA and a bachelor's degree in biology (pre-medicine/pre-dental)… currently has a 4.00 GPA while pursuing a master's degree in biology.
