Biography

General: Second-year player… a talented and versatile athlete… adjusted well to the Gorillas’ schemes after transferring from Mesa (Ariz.) Community College… coming off a solid spring camp… will look to be an impact performer for the Gorillas again this fall.

In 2016: Saw action in all 11 games in a reserve role… made 14 tackles (six solo) with 0.5 TFL on the season… made a season-high four stops vs. NWMSU (Oct. 29).

In Junior College: Made 36 tackles (18 solo) with one interception and three pass breakups as a sophomore at Mesa Community College in 2014.

In High School: A standout prep performer at Phoenix Mountain Pointe High School… helped the Pride to a 12-2 record his senior season.

Personal: Born April 30, 1995… son of Darnell and Charisse Simmons… a justice studies major.
