2024: Started in all 11 games for the Gorillas ... Named an All-American by the Don Hansen Committee ... Named a first-team All-MIAA performer on the defensive line ... Finished the season with 43 tackles, 4.0 TFLs, 1.5 sacks and three quarterback hurries ... Against Harding (Nov. 23) recorded a season-high 10 tackles.

2023: Started all 13 games… made 22 tackles (four solo) with 1.5 tackles-for-loss and 0.5 quarterback sacks… a third-team All-MIAA selection… recorded four tackles with 1.0 TFLs and 0.5 QB sacks in the NCAA-II playoffs vs. GVSU (Nov. 25).

2022: Started 12 of 13 games played… registered 20 tackles (seven solo) with 3.0 tackles-for-loss on the season… an honorable mention All-MIAA selection.

2021: Competed in 10 games, including four starts ...made 16 tackles (four solo) with 1.0 tackle-for-loss on the season… registered a season high four stops vs. Missouri Southern (Oct. 16).

2020: Saw action in three games … posted six tackles (four solo) on the season.

Track & Field: A multiple-time All-MIAA performer and NCAA Division II national qualifier in the shot put … ranks sixth in Pitt State history in the shot put (58-8) and seventh in the hammer throw (195-0).

HS: A two-time Kansas Class 4A All-State performer at Tonganoxie High School (2918-19)… a Kansas Football Coaches Association Top 11 pick his senior season… also second-team All-State All-Class selection by the Topeka Capital-Journal.

Personal: Born April 28, 2002… son of Mike and Ranae Sample… an automotive technology major
