Biography

General: Third-year player… a talented running back who gained valuable game experience as a redshirt freshman… expected to play a key role in the backfield for the Gorillas again this fall.

In 2013: Saw action in eight games in a reserve role… carried the ball 16 times for 89 yards (5.6 ypc)… also caught three passes for 21 yards… rushed the ball five times for a season-high 33 yards vs. Emporia State (Oct. 11).

In 2012: Redshirt season.

In High School: A Kansas Class 5A All-State selection as a senior at Hays High School in 2012… the two-time conference offensive MVP (2011-12) for the Indians… a 2013 Kansas Shrine Bowl selection.

Personal: Born March 11, 1995… son of David Cardinal and Stephanie Akers… a physical education major.
