General: Second-year player … a talented safety who made the most of his redshirt season in 2023 … expected to vie for playing time for the Gorillas this fall.

2023: Redshirt season.

HS: A first-team Kansas Class 4A All-State performer as a senior at Rose Hill High School in 2022 for coach Lee Weber… also a first-team All-League and first-team All-Butler County selection… posted 68 tackles, two interceptions and four pass breakups… also averaged 37 yards on kickoff returns.

Personal: Born on August 29, 2004… son of Shane and Heather McLaughlin… a marketing major.
