Biography

General: Completed his sixth season in the Pitt State program in 2024 … a talented running back with veteran experience… a two-time All-MIAA performer to finish his career … has 295 career carries for 1,273 yards and 12 touchdowns… voted a 2024 team captain.

2024: Started in nine of the 11 games he played in for the Gorillas as a running back ... Earned third-team All-MIAA honors as an all-purpose back ... Finished the season with 153 rush attempts for 576 yards and six touchdowns ... Hauled in 18 receptions for 166 yards and one touchdown ... Against Emporia State (Sept. 14) recorded a season-high 99 yards on the ground from 16 attempts and one touchdown.

2023: Saw action in 11 games in a reserve role… carried the ball 73 times for 427 yards (5.8 ypc) and three touchdowns… also made 11 receptions for 109 yards (9.9 ypc) and one score… received honorable mention All-MIAA honors as an all-purpose back… carried the ball eight times for a career best 92 yards vs. UNK (Sept. 23).

2022: Saw action in eight games… carried the ball 43 times for 180 yards (4.2 ypc) and one touchdown.

2021: Competed in 10 games… carried the ball 25 times for 88 yards (3.5 ypc) and two touchdowns… had season highs of eight carries and 42 yards against Lincoln (Oct. 16).

2020: Saw action in one game.

2019: Redshirt season.

HS: An Oklahoma Class 6A All-State selection as a senior at Tulsa’s Jenks High School as a senior in 2018… selected the 6A District I linebacker of the year, posting 91 tackles, 2.0 quarterback sacks, seven pass break-ups and three fumble recoveries… rushed the ball 127 times for 947 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Personal: Born September 18, 2000… son of Brian Hernandez and Karen Hernandez… a member of the MIAA Academic Roll… graduated with a bachelor's degree in recreation services, sport and hospitality management… currently pursuing a master's of business administration degree.
