Pittsburg State Gorillas

General: Fourth-year player… a talented tight end who is bidding to return to health following a harrowing battle with cancer (non-Hodgkins lymphoma) that was discovered over the winter… diagnosed in remission in July following extensive medical treatments… a spiritual and inspiritional leader who remains actively involved in the Pitt State program… teammate Montrae Strickland will wear his jersey No. 6 in his honor this fall.

In 2014: Saw action in all 13 games including one start at tight end… caught game-tying 2-point conversion pass in the fourth quarter of the Gorillas’ NCAA-II playoff game vs. Minnesota State (Nov. 29).

In 2013: Redshirt season (medical).

In 2012: Saw action in seven games in a reserve role on the defensive line… made four tackles (one solo) with 0.5 tackles-for-loss, one pass breakup and one forced fumble on the season.

In Junior College: Spent one season at Fort Scott Community College (2011)… made 46 tackles (27 solo) with 11.5 tackles-for-loss in eight games for the Greyhounds… signed with the University of Minnesota out of high school.

In High School: A two-time Missouri Class 5A All-State performer at St. Louis’ Normandy High School (2004-05)… made 19.0 quarterback sacks in 10 games as a senior for the Vikings.

Personal: Born October 20, 1987… son of Robert McField and Denise McField… a recreation major.
