General: First-year player… a talented offensive lineman who transferred to Pitt State in January from Butler Community College… adjusted well to the Gorillas schemes during spring drills… expected to battle for the staring role at center this fall.

In Junior College: A first-team All-Jayhawk Conference and All-Region VI selection as a sophomore at Butler Community College in 2012… helped the Grizzlies compile a 22-2 combined record in two seasons.

In High School: A three-year starter at Mulvane High School (2008-10).

Personal: Born March 16, 1993… son of Tom & Suzie Burkhart… has a 3.38 GPA as a recreation major.
