Pittsburg State Gorillas

General: First-year player… one of the premiere tackles in Division II… a big, physical player who is expected to reclaim his starting role for the Gorillas again this fall… transferred to Pitt State after two seasons at FCS member Abilene Christian University.

In 2016: Started all 11 games at left tackle for the Gorillas… garnered second-team All-MIAA honors as well as honorable mention All-America accolades from the Don Hansen Football Committee.

At ACU: A two-time second-team All-Conference performer at Abilene Christian (2014-15)… a preseason second-team FSC All-America selection heading into the 2015 campaign.

In High School: A second-team All-Conference selection at defensive tackle and tight end as a senior at El-Paso - Gridley (Ill.) High School… made 81 tackles his senior season for the Titans.

Personal: Born August 8, 1993… son of Mark and Michelle Funk… a management major.
