PITTSBURG — Pittsburg State University senior Austin Bogina will race in the 2015 NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships Saturday (Nov. 21). The 10-kilometer race will begin at 11:15 a.m. (CST) at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Mo.
Bogina, an Arma, Kan., native, earned an individual berth to nationals with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Central Regional on Nov. 7. He was clocked in 30 minutes, 55.06 seconds in the regional meet held at the same site of Saturday's national championships.
Bogina also qualified to nationals as a junior in 2014. He placed 151st overall in the meet at Louisville, Ky.
The Pitt State men missed qualifying as a team for this year's national championships by a single point. The Gorillas finished sixth in the Central Regional with the top five squads earning qualifying berths.
