TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Northeastern State University baseball team scored two runs apiece in each of the final three innings of play to rally from a 12-7 deficit and claim a 13-12 victory over Pittsburg State University Tuesday (Mar. 22).
The Gorillas (6-16, 1-12 MIAA) fell behind 7-0 to the RiverHawks (14-9, 8-5 MIAA), but Pitt State scored three runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to push in front 12-7.
Andrew Vogelbaugh and Christian Arnold each belted home runs in the contest for Pitt State. Vogelbaugh and Cole Brecheisen each drove in a pair of runs and Brett Macary, Jacob Boylan and Arnold all scored two runs.
The Gorillas will return to action Thursday (Mar. 24) when Pitt State opens a three-game MIAA series at home against the University of Central Oklahoma.
