MARYVILLE, Mo. — The Northwest Missouri State University baseball team scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally from a 5-1 deficit and claim a 6-5 victory over Pittsburg State University Saturday (Apr. 2) at Bearcat Field.
The Bearcats (16-13, 10-8 MIAA) capitalized on a pair of Pitt State errors in their big inning to send the Gorillas (6-22, 1-18 MIAA) to their eighth straight loss.
The two teams will wrap up their three-game series with a 1 p.m. (CDT) game Sunday.
Jacob Boylan homered and went 2-for-4 with two runs scored to pace Pitt State's 10-hit attack in the contest.
Ryan McKay pitched into the seventh inning, allowing three runs and seven hits. Ty Rowe (3-2) took the loss, allowing three runs (one earned) in an inning of work.
