EMPORIA, Kan. -- The Emporia State University baseball team rallied from a 3-2 deficit with a six-run fifth inning to take control and hold on for an 8-6 victory over Pittsburg State University Monday (Feb. 27) at Glennen Field.
The Hornets (10-2, 3-0 MIAA) completed a three-game series sweep of the Gorillas (6-8, 0-3 MIAA) with the victory.
Brock Zanca led the Pitt State offensive attack, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Dallas Reed also went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
The Gorillas will return to action Wednesday (Mar. 1) when they travel to Claremore, Okla., for a non-conference game at 2 p.m. (CST).
