PITTSBURG— The Pittsburg State University volleyball team posted its sixth straight victory with a 3-1 win against Southwest Baptist University Saturday (Sept. 15). The Gorillas defeated the Bearcats 25-11, 25-15, 27-29, 25-21.
SBU (4-11, 0-2 MIAA) got a match-high 10 kills from Delanie Tipton, while Greyson Roster and Kalyn Bitner added seven kills. Makenzie Bosue recorded 29 assists for the Bearcats, with Dana Neal compiling 12 digs.
Pitt State (13-2, 2-0 MIAA) had 49 kills on 128 attempts hitting .219 as a team. Morgan Henning led the team with a season-high 13 kills and Lauren Regier followed with ten kills. Camryn Blanton contributed 41 assists, while Lauren Dunn led the defense with 14 digs in the match.
Pitt State will return to action Tuesday (Sept. 18) when the Gorillas host University of Central Oklahoma at John Lance Arena at 6 p.m.
