PSU Softball to Host Elite Camp, Hitting/Pitching Series & Hit-a-Thon


PITTSBURG — Pittsburg State University softball coach Jenny Fuller announced she will host an Elite Softball Prospect Camp on Saturday, Nov. 13, as well as a November Hitting & Pitching Instructional Series.
 
The Elite Camp is for girls enrolled in 7th through 12th grade and runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with check-in starting at 9 a.m. Lunch will be provided and all campers receive a complimentary t-shirt.
 
The camp includes personalized instruction from college coaches and players to help campers improve their softball skills and overall performance. Position skills, team and individual drills and fundamentals will be stressed.
 
The Hitting & Pitching Series starts Monday, Nov. 1, and runs for four consecutive weeks ending on Monday, Nov. 22.
 
Campers will be divided into small groups to learn fundamental and develop confidence associated with pitching and hitting.

In addition to the camp offerings, the Pitt State softball program is hosting a Hit-a-Thon and Home Run Derby on Sunday, Oct. 10, at the PSU Softball Complex. The event is open to community members and participants of all ages.
 
The home run competition begins at 3 p.m. following the conclusion of Pitt State's fall scrimmage doubleheader against NEO.
 
Cost to participate in the home run derby is $2 per swing. Participants can win raffle prizes based on home runs hit. All entrants who pre-register online will be entered into the prize drawing.
 
Participants can increase their chances of winning a raffle prize for every homerun hit personally or from their sponsored player.
