PITTSBURG — The Wayne State College baseball team jumped out to an 8-0 lead and rode that to a 20-10 victory over Pittsburg State University Sunday (Feb. 20) at Al Ortolani Field.
The Wildcats (1-1) pounded out 14 hits in the game and benefited from eight bases on balls.
Pitt State starter Paul Panduro (0-2) was charged with the loss. Jordan Maxson and Garrett McGowan both homered in the game for the Gorillas. Maxson went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Cruz Aranda collected three hits in the contest.
Pitt State and Wayne State will wrap up the three-game series with a 1 p.m. game Monday (Feb. 21).
